Following the Leicester riots in September 2022, the United Kindgdom Indian Muslim Council (UK-IMC along with 200 other Muslim organisations) have taken the initiative not to engage with the Government led Inquiry into the riots, due to deep concerns over the choice of Chair and his previous Islamophobic remarks. We have decided to co-operate with the Independent Inquiry led by SOAS. However, we have collected hundreds of incidents that seriously impacted the Muslim community in Leicester which would have otherwise gone unreported. We have closed collecting empirical data from the community. The report is now under preparation which will be out soon. Kindly stay tuned.
